Dual Language Academy (DLA)

Armona Union Elementary School District proudly shared student success in the Dual Language Academy at Armona Elementary School. We currently have DLA classes in kindergarten and first grade with second grade opening next school year. To learn about the DLA program and registration process for the 2026/2027 school year, please RSVP to attend one of the following Informational meetings that will take place in the AE Library.

DLA MISSION

Through relevant and rigorous learning experiences, students will demonstrate academic mastery in both English and Spanish.

DLA GOALS

Program goals were compiled by district personnel through collaborative efforts between adminmistrators and teachers.

  • Eliminate the achievement gap between English Learners and their English-dominant peers.

  • Promote a positive bilingual identity, sociocultural competency, commitment to learning, and empowerment to actively engage in a multicultural society.

  • Foster in native English speakers a near-native fluency in a second language.

  • Develop bilingual and biliterate college and career ready citizens.

  • Pave the pathway to the Seal of Biliteracy.
